America's Youngest Jazz Band has appeared at the March of Jazz Festival each year since 2000. It is exceptionally rewarding for Sonny and the kids to perform alongside some of the greatest musicians in the world . " Live at the March of Jazz 2002" a brand new C.D. was recorded on the spot and has been a tremendous success for the band . In May 2002 the band was in concert at the New Orleans " Jazz and Heritage Festival " and attained the title as the "Youngest Band " of its' kind ever to play the world famous " Preservation Hall ". In June 2002 the band appeared on main stage joining headliners Al Jarreau , Roberta Flack , and Diane Shurr at the Syracuse Jazz Festival in New York .

These 4 to 13 year olds are continuing to make history however Sonny finds the same old plague of getting new kids to replace the graduates.
"I tried for 23 years to place music in the same category of interests as Sports. I guess it will never be but in the 500 or so who have been in the band I'm certain they have no regrets and have the memories and happiness of a lifetime".

Sonny's band is one of the most unique and undoubtedly the only professional sounding SWING and JAZZ bands of its kind in the world. Not only did they recently win a gold medal at the International Music Festival, they were also the youngest jazz band ever to be invited to perform at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

The 23 piece band of 4 to 13 year olds contains full Sax, Brass, and Rhythm sections with vocalists reminincent of the Big Band Era. Special arrangements for the youngsters are done by Sonny LaRosa. The Band is seeking further national and world attention to encourage all children of this age group to get involved in jazz music.

Other accomplishments include opening The World Trade Center Plaza Show in N.Y.C. for the Bell Atlantic Jazz Festival on June 13th, and an appearance on the NBC's Today Show. For more information on the band and obtaining their latest video contact Sonny Larosa.
